Very interesting story and as others have said well-developed characters. After >600years of brutal enslavement she understandably has problems trusting any man while he needs to decide whether he admires her or wants to abuse her. [The sort of women he desires will by definition be unwilling to accept the stance he's currently taking on the status of women in general and her in particular].
I suspect the level of brutality and violence in the final section with the beatings followed by penetration by huge ginger coated dildos is rather excessive. Even for a genetically modified slave with so much experience I find it difficult to believe she could stay that quiet and still overnight after sustaining that much damage.
I think potentually there are going to be problems with Chantal. Especially since it sounds like Artemis is probably being hunted by the Prometheus company. She could probably tip them off about Artemis's location.
There are a few typos but not excessively so.
Looking forward to finding out more.

The story was interesting and engaging. I could not predict where it would go and found that stimulating. I liked the main characters and really hope to see the story develop. My imagination has already gone on to the next chapter. Keep it up. (10/10)

This author has a fine sense of plot and the arc of the story itself is very promising, well up to professional Sci-Fi standards, even if there were some parts that required a little suspension of belief. The characterisation was excellent and I ended up caring what happened to both protagonists and hoping for a solution that worked for them both. Thanks for a good opening. Please do continue it

While "The Space-Faring Merchant" has a delightful plot, is well written and has some interesting characters, I felt the narrative to be too flat. Like, the story has no soul, no passion.
Everything comes across as beying overly polite as if someone wants to kick us in the nuts, but doesn't want to hurt us.
I myself am not partial to being kicked in the nuts, but, to use another metaphore, when at sea I like some ripples in my ocean, instead of constantly gazing over beautiflly smooth waters...
Master Philosopher needs to rawk this boat, instead of playing a subdued fiddle in a 4-piece chamber orchestra...

A delightful plot driven version of the standard "society of slaves" trope, sexy without lingering on needless details, with an unusual couple. It's rare to see an unwilling victim who is not simply a pain object without a a personality.
Delightful! I look forward to finding other stories by Master Philosopher. (10/10)
