This is a really good short story. I totally recommend it. (10/10)

Another good story - just a quick warning: there is a /m element to it which may turn some people off. It didn't distract me too much, though. Nice echoes of the great 'Toxic Avenger' movie as well, in parts ... (8/10)

At first I was taken aback by the exaggerated behaviour of the main character. After a while however everything began to fit into his 'comic book' style of evil. So if you find yourself overwhelmed at first, keep on reading. (8/10)

Thanks Satan!! I appreciate you pointing out this nuance. All of my bad guys are somewhat theatrical but I admit Forrester is over the top, but hopefully in a good way. His character was deeply twisted by his wealthy father, who was an equally depraved and egocentric bastard. My theory on Forrester is that he is, deep down, still a very sad and insecure little boy --- his affectations are mostly a defense mechanism that he uses to distance himself from the horror of his actions. You hit the nail on the head when you said "comic book" --- this grandiosity and "unreality" offers him the detachment he needs. For another Forrester story, one much harder and more twisted, try "Four Play." It's got some technical glitches, but it's even more outrageous and goes a little deeper into the roots of his psychosis. But all the psychobabble aside, I think it's important for a villain to plainly enjoy himself, and Forrester does that in spades.

Excellently written, interesting story. I don't like it much when somebody dies and that's why I'm rating it 9 instead of 10. Hopefully will get to read some more from the same author, perhaps something more into bondage, humiliation and sex rather than torture and blackmail? :) (9/10)

Your point is well taken.... Since this story is part of a collection, I think it would serve me well to vary the thematic elements as you suggest. My longer work is more crime-pulp oriented, so the blood tends to seep through to my other work, even when I don't immediately realize it. Thanks for the comments!

Thanks for your time and reviews! This is actually one in a collection of short stories I am currently working on. Each story is intended to stand on it's own as a short, but also to be part of a whole story arc, or novel, when the stories are read sequentially. This hopefully explains why the story is titled with a "7" and also why the character of Carlotta is seemingly unexplained. I plan to publish the whole work commercially this summer, but want to submit several chapters to BDSM Lib as well. I count on your feedback to keep me "on track" with what's hot and not. I was pleasantly surprised with the reactions to this one, especially from a stickler like CarrieAnne (*wink*)--- guess I passed the spelling, punc, and grammar test! LOL
Seriously, thanks a lot to you all! If you're interested in other stuff I have written, check out http://www.a1adultebooks.com. You'll find one complete novel now, another in one month, and the short story collection in July-August 2006. More excerpts to come on BDSM Lib, free of charge.
