Follow the lives of two students at the Willows School for Problem Girls as they deal with the complexities of being branded violent juvenile delinquents, the pressure from their peers to fit in and a teaching staff eager to discipline any girl stepping out of line. Join Pam, an overweight sixteen year old falsely accused of violent crimes as she tries to deal with teachers and a Headmistress that dislike her because of her weight and are cautious of her because of her supposedly violent past. Also, follow the life of Tish, the former prom queen and all-around snob that finds herself in the Willows School system after becoming addicted to drugs and in trouble for alcohol abuse during her Senior year of high school. How does Tish deal with becoming the favorite target of the school bully and her gang of miscreants? |

After reading the second chapter I am beginning to get a bit nervous about this story despite its promises. The bones for this tale are made of reinforced concrete and steel, but to date there has been precious little meat added to this skeleton. The humiliation of Tish was set up beautifully but it fizzled. By the time Tish gets to Bertha, its more of the same, and brief at that; almost as if the author had lost interest. I also noticed that the editing and proof reading has deteriorated significantly, another sign that this story seems to be headed for the orphanage. Please accept this criticism in a positive way, because this work still has great potential. It would be much easier to say nothing, and leave the original rating unchanged, but that's not my nature. (5/10)

A good and promising start. Very detailed descriptions in the first part which I enjoy. (8/10)

I agree with lex as is usual. I like the pace at which the story builds and the way the writer is developing Pam's character. Looks like a very promising start to what should be an excellent serial. My only objection is to the flogger. A real reformatory would have used a strap or a cane or a birch (or heaven forbid even a real whip). A flogger is a sex toy. (8/10)

- Au contraire. Floggers, scourges and cat o' nine tails have been used classically for discipline for thousands of years. Whereas whips tend to cut and break skin, floggers are only meant to hurt and leave no permanent marks. I believe my use of it in the story was correct, although I was debating on whether to have gone with a paddle instead.
