Very good, and no noticable detriment from being yanked from the larger work. Unlike boccaccio, I prefer the author's 'harder' stories, though. (8/10)

Excellent. This story is very strong in areas where some of Cortez' other stories were rather weak -- characterization, context, and variety of incident. And while this is, for Cortez, a rather mild scene, one certainly has the sense that a rough road lies ahead for Carol and Suzy. (9/10)
